Kashmir Shawl

I had always heard about Kashmir Shawls as super light with  finest texture but I never could imagine how it could look like until I happened to see loads of beautiful Kashmir Shawls in Srinagar,Kashmir.
As I told in my earlier posts about Kashmir persistent merchants,I got to know Kashmir Shawls when they came to my house boat and opened their white cloth and suddenly you could see diversity of color and design in their coarse and simple hands! I couldn't believe my eyes though I'm a Persian girl and I'm almost familiar with nice textiles but still it was shocking! Then they were showing me a small ring and I was wondering why they were showing me the ring until I saw they passed the whole shawl through that small ring!!! And it could show how elegant and fine was the quality of that Kashmir Shawl .In Kashmir you could see lots of Shawls with nice colors and design but not all are authentic Kashmir Shawls from that special wool taken from the goat!
Then I was taken to Kashmir textile company and there I got shocked by all the simple equipments they were making those beautiful shawls from dying to ironing .I got sad when I saw the situations of the women in a small room when they could barely see the sunlight but I didn't dare to take a photo of them.I didn't want to make them feel uncomfortable! But now when I see all those beauty made by all those hardworking women and men with that awful situation,I feel pain in my heart but still admire their outstanding beauty they have in their heart which can make all those nice Kashmir Shawls!

Who was Mr Wonderful Man and what he taught me in life?

Dal Lake,Srinagar,Kashmir:  When I opened the door of the house boat next morning I just got shocked by seeing all the boat vendors in Dal Lake !  These boats are called "Shikara" and riding them is one of the most relaxing activities you can do in Dal Lake,Srinagar. The first Shikara rider I saw, just the day I had arrived ,was a man who was selling flowers and flower's seeds! He had a big album full of the Kashmir's flower photos and among all " black and blue roses" caught my eyes!  My dad was a florist for years and naturally I'm so attracted to all kinda flowers as I've been brought up with always having lots of flowers around me and smell of flowers in our house! when my dad was coming home at night he was always offering some flowers to each one of us ,specially to my mom and he used to get a kiss instead! I was brought to a place in the" Dal lake " where there was some house boats full of Artifacts! I was all shocked! I love wooden handcrafts and Kashmir people are just masters in this case in my eyes!  I also saw a man doing Papier Mâché .Kashmir people really are masters of this art as well!  They produce the nicest Kashmir shawls and precious stone jewelry as well! They have loads of beautiful gardens, too! In one word,Kashmir was a land of beauty and art for me! And this beautiful wooden ship! loads of beautiful paper mache artifacts!
